This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions for refunds related to various transactions with our organization. Please read this policy carefully to understand our procedures and your options regarding refunds.
1. General Principles
Our refund policy is based on the following principles:
- Transparency and fairness in all transactions
- Prompt processing of eligible refund requests
- Clear communication regarding refund eligibility and procedures
- Responsible management of organizational resources
This policy applies to all services, events, memberships, and contributions provided by or made to the Clean Energy Transition Project, unless otherwise specified in a separate agreement.
2. Consulting Services and Project Work
2.1 Refund Eligibility
For consulting services and project work, refunds may be provided under the following circumstances:
- If the Clean Energy Transition Project is unable to deliver the agreed-upon services as specified in the contract or statement of work
- If there is a significant deviation from the agreed scope of work that we are unable to rectify
- If a project is canceled by the Clean Energy Transition Project for reasons other than client non-compliance
2.2 Refund Amount
The refund amount for consulting services and project work will be determined as follows:
- For services not yet performed: 100% of the payment for those specific services
- For partially completed services: A prorated amount based on the percentage of work completed, less any non-recoverable expenses already incurred
- For completed services that do not meet the agreed specifications: Up to 100% of the payment, depending on the nature and extent of the deficiency
2.3 Non-Refundable Items
The following items are generally non-refundable for consulting services and project work:
- Expenses already incurred that cannot be recovered (e.g., travel costs, specialized materials)
- Services that have been delivered and accepted by the client
- Administrative fees, which may be retained in certain circumstances
3. Events, Workshops, and Webinars
3.1 Cancellation by Participant
If you need to cancel your registration for an event, workshop, or webinar, the following refund terms apply:
- More than 30 days before the event: Full refund, less a 10% administrative fee
- 15-30 days before the event: 75% refund
- 7-14 days before the event: 50% refund
- Less than 7 days before the event: No refund
Instead of a refund, you may choose to:
- Transfer your registration to another person at no additional cost
- Apply your payment to a future event within the next 12 months
- Convert your payment into a donation to the Clean Energy Transition Project
3.2 Cancellation by Clean Energy Transition Project
If we cancel an event, workshop, or webinar, you will be offered the following options:
- A full refund of your registration fee
- Transfer to an alternative date if the event is rescheduled
- Transfer to a comparable event
- Convert your payment into a donation (optional)
3.3 Virtual Events
For virtual events and webinars, our refund policy is as follows:
- More than 7 days before the event: Full refund, less a 5% administrative fee
- 3-7 days before the event: 75% refund
- Less than 3 days before the event: No refund
Participants who miss a virtual event will have access to the recording (if available) for a specified period, but will not be eligible for a refund.
4. Memberships and Subscriptions
4.1 Annual Memberships
For annual memberships to the Clean Energy Transition Project:
- Memberships may be canceled within 14 days of purchase for a full refund
- After 14 days, memberships may be canceled, but refunds will be prorated based on the remaining time, less a 15% administrative fee
- No refunds will be issued for memberships that have been active for more than 9 months
4.2 Digital Subscriptions
For digital subscriptions, such as newsletter subscriptions or access to premium content:
- Subscriptions may be canceled within 7 days of purchase for a full refund if no content has been accessed
- No refunds will be provided after 7 days or if content has been accessed
- You may cancel your subscription at any time to prevent future billing
5. Donations and Contributions
5.1 One-Time Donations
One-time donations to the Clean Energy Transition Project are generally non-refundable. However, in exceptional circumstances, such as:
- Duplicate transactions or technical errors resulting in unintended multiple donations
- Donations made in error (e.g., incorrect amount)
- Fraudulent use of your payment method
We will review these situations on a case-by-case basis and may provide a full or partial refund at our discretion.
5.2 Recurring Donations
For recurring donations:
- You may cancel your recurring donation at any time to prevent future charges
- Donations already processed are generally non-refundable
- If you believe a recurring donation continued after you requested cancellation, please contact us immediately
5.3 Sponsored Projects
Contributions to specific sponsored projects or initiatives:
- Are generally non-refundable once the project has commenced
- May be refunded if the specific project is canceled or substantially modified before commencement
- May be redirected to a similar project with your consent if the original project cannot proceed
6. Publications and Digital Products
For publications, reports, and digital products purchased from the Clean Energy Transition Project:
- Physical products: May be returned within 14 days of receipt if in original condition for a full refund, less shipping costs
- Digital downloads: Eligible for refund within 7 days of purchase if not downloaded or accessed
- Digital products with access issues: Technical problems preventing access will be addressed with either technical support or a refund
7. Refund Process and Timeframe
7.1 How to Request a Refund

- Explain the reason for your refund request
- Specify your preferred refund method (original payment method, bank transfer, etc.)
All refund requests should be submitted within 30 days of the original transaction date, unless otherwise specified in this policy.
7.2 Processing Time
We strive to process all eligible refund requests promptly:
- Acknowledgment of your refund request will be provided within 2 business days
- Decisions regarding refund eligibility will generally be made within 5-7 business days
- Approved refunds will be processed within 10 business days of approval
Please note that while we process refunds promptly, it may take an additional 5-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your payment provider or financial institution.
8. Exceptions and Special Circumstances
We recognize that special circumstances may arise that are not covered by our standard refund policy. In such cases:
- Requests for exceptions should be submitted in writing, explaining the special circumstances
- Each request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
- Decisions will be made at the discretion of the Clean Energy Transition Project management
- Medical emergencies, natural disasters, and other force majeure events may be considered valid reasons for exceptions

9. Changes to the Refund Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. The date of the latest revision will be indicated at the top of the policy. It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically for changes.
Any changes to our Refund Policy will only apply to transactions that occur after the date of the change.
